How Student Advisor checks and updates its guidance.

We aim to make complex university information clear without replacing the official decision maker or presenting estimates as guarantees.

Reviewed 11 October 2026 · Checked by the Student Advisor editorial team

01

How is Student Advisor content researched?

Changing rules, fees and deadlines are checked against first-party sources such as GOV.UK, UCAS and the relevant university.

Each substantive guide identifies its review date and links to the sources readers should use for a final check. We distinguish official rules from planning examples and adviser observations.

02

How do reviews and corrections work?

The Student Advisor editorial team reviews published guidance and corrects material errors when they are identified.

A correction should update the affected statement, its review date and the supporting source. Time-sensitive facts are not carried forward without a new verification.

03

What are the limits of the guidance?

University, funding and immigration outcomes depend on the applicant and the responsible institution, so Student Advisor does not guarantee an offer, funding award or visa.

Case studies and student quotations are published only with permission and must not disclose private application information. Individual legal or immigration questions should be taken to an appropriately regulated professional.
